Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase The first book was so intriguing I could not put it down this second is just as marvelous as well. I liked that the author tied the two story lines together brilliantly. I read the second book slower because I did not want the story to end. I hope there will be a sequel. Bravo!

Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseI just loved "Scarred". It's historical signficance in a romance that spans time is thorough and engaging. I couldn't put it down. It was such a page-turner. I was so pleased to see it on the Kindle list. A triumph for Routhieaux! By ajon January 17, 2013 Format: PaperbackScarred is a story about a young girl who flees England with a friend to make a new life in colonial America. But Jo-Ann is not your average heroine; she has spiritual roots that go deep. Her unshakable faith, indomitable will (and sometimes just plain stubbornness) help her to overcome daunting obstacles to happiness in the new world. This is a well-researched book rich with details of life in the colonies. Fans of historical fiction will find this book well worth reading. By Kristineon May 24, 2013Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseValerie Jean Routhieaux is a good friend and an experienced author of brilliant imaginative quality. Scarred is an inspiring novel gleaming experience from the eighteenth century colony life in America. Jo-ann Carter is a very determined young lady and Valerie Jean does a beautiful job penning her troublesome adventure with a great outcome. It is a believable tale and one very enjoyable read. I was much immersed in the story and am happy the series goes on to other stores about this family and doesn't end here. Of course the second book is to be published shortly and the next two will be forthcoming. Thanks, Valerie Jean, for such a pleasant read. I really enjoyed this first book. Keep up the good work. By sandra ferruccion August 20, 2014 Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseThe book kept my attention and activated my imagination, I could relate to the before-her-time feminist. I recommend this read to anyone who likes an innocent, historical, romance novel. My only complaint would be a lack of editing as far as length. Whole passages could be removed without harming the story line. By Brenda Erwinon August 24, 2014 Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseI am reading it slowly. Don't want it to end. Absolutely marvelous writing. |
